Our new view-only dashboards provide real-time insights that can be shared across your company. This new feature will boost your team’s ability to monitor, respond, and strategize effectively, keeping everyone up to date.

Unlock insights across your organization with NewsWhip’s shareable dashboards

Today, NewsWhip is introducing shareable View-Only Dashboards to the Spike platform. This new update will provide our users with:

  • Effortless Sharing — You can now distribute your carefully crafted dashboards with your entire team, keeping everyone on the same page.
  • Real-Time Insights — Your chosen recipients get instant access to the most up-to-date, real-time data and insights in one place.
  • Controlled Access — View-Only Dashboards preserve the integrity of your search terms and tracked account.
Simply put, this feature allows controlled dashboard sharing across organizations, giving stakeholders insight into what’s being monitored and more information to make better decisions. It ensures seamless in-product teamwork, scalability, and is ideal for sharing dashboards both within and across teams.

How do NewsWhip’s View-Only Dashboards work?

It’s now easy to share view-only versions of your dashboards with team members and stakeholders. Here’s a brief overview of the process.

Share: Think of Dashboard owners as conductors, orchestrating data sharing. When you hit the ‘Share’ button, you can select specific team members or the entire ensemble. Shared dashboards transform into dynamic compositions, updating in real time, with everyone playing their assigned part. As for your view-only recipients? They’re in the front row, aware and appreciative of the music, but not joining in with the concerto.

Authorize: While recipients are able to make minor alterations – such as adjusting time ranges and sorting metrics – owners retain full control over the dashboards. That means you can revoke access or transfer ownership to another team member. Any changes made revert to the owner’s settings upon reloading – thus maintaining the integrity of the original dashboard. It’s also worth noting that recipients cannot add or remove widgets, or alter core search parameters.

Customize: Recipients can customize alerts, reports, and digests from shared dashboards without altering the original settings. However, if the owner removes access or deletes the dashboard, these customizations vanish.

Three ways View-Only Dashboards will enhance your workflow

Our latest enhancement will further enable increasingly busy comms professionals in their day-to-day work.

1. Empowered dissemination: Users can effortlessly share dashboards, allowing recipients to view and interact with the data, through filters and by making temporary changes, without the risk of changing the information for everyone else.

2. Frictionless flexibility: With View-Only Dashboards, you retain complete control over data sharing. Again, owners can negate access, transfer ownership, and allow recipients to create alerts and reports. Users can also duplicate dashboards for permanent changes (if needs be). This flexibility enhances productivity while maintaining data integrity and a single source of truth.

3. Streamlined decision-making: The feature offers a streamlined approach by enabling team members to create alerts, reports, and digests directly from shared dashboards. This ensures critical updates and insights are readily available to all stakeholders, reducing manual updates and communication time. By maintaining a single source of truth, teams can make faster, more accurate decisions based on the most current data.

Whether you’re distributing dashboards to specific teams, or across the entire company, View-Only Dashboards brings controlled sharing capability. It keeps everyone informed and aligned with the most up-to-date information while maintaining consistency and control.
