Data for Democracy
At NewsWhip, we created the Data for Democracy program to help combat the spread of misinformation and disinformation, and to promote a better understanding of social content engagement. When the Ukrainian invasion began, we expanded the program, giving free access to NewsWhip technology, helping more than 60 fact-checkers, journalists, and researchers uncover worldwide Russian disinformation in the early days of the invasion.
Meta’s 3PFC
We partnered up with Meta to provide NewsWhip’s tools to Meta’s Third-Party Fact-Checking (3PFC) program. The goal of the partnership is to enhance fact-checking capabilities in order to deliver accurate information and combat misinformation for platform users, with more than 90 independent fact-checking organizations participating in the program.
Academic support
NewsWhip has played a vital role in enhancing educational research by granting access to real-time engagement data sourced from news and social media platforms. This resource has allowed researchers to gain deeper insights into trends and identify and counter misinformation.
