Q3 2024: Enhanced collaboration, security, and analysis features

October 1, 2024

While we were all enjoying the sunshine and perhaps even getting some down time, our Product team has certainly still been busy during the summer months. They’ve delivered a number of features and updates to enhance the user experience, including enhanced collaboration, security, and analysis features.

Fixing the roof when the sun is shining, to quote JFK, is a fitting metaphor for the improvements carried out in Q3. Well, it would be if the sun had actually shone in Dublin this summer (ed: or if our flawless platform had any issues…?). Here is a closer look at what we delivered last quarter:

Monitor dashboard modifications with Changelog

We were pleased to recently unveil Changelog, one of Q3’s bigger additions. Users can now easily keep track of every change made to dashboards, offering clearer insights and improving team collaboration.

Whether working together with shared View-Only Dashboards or managing your own private ones, Changelog provides:

Full Search Visibility: Instantly gain insights into the “what,” “when,” and “who” behind any search modifications on your dashboard.

Clear Visual Indicators: Quickly identify changes with color-coded highlights that compare current and previous search states, making it easy to understand the impact of modifications.

Simplified Navigation: Find recently updated dashboards faster with the new Last Modified sorting option, streamlining your workflow and ensuring you never miss an update.

The Changelog feature is live for all Spike users and can be accessed from the ‘More’ menu inside each dashboard. Plus, a new blue dot on the homepage highlights any unseen changes, helping you stay on top of potentially impactful modifications.

Multi-Factor Authentication now available

We are also excited to announce that Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is available for all users. MFA adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second step during login such as entering a one-time code sent to a registered email.

It’s easy to activate and can be enabled at the team level upon request. No changes to current passwords are needed, and users can continue logging in as normal. This is part of our continued efforts to align more closely with corporate security requirements and provide peace of mind for our users.

Historical Analysis now includes Facebook

Building on the momentum from our previous release, we released an important update to Historical Analysis: users can now search up to 12 months of data across all major networks, including Facebook. This completed the full-year search capability for Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, and LinkedIn, offering a more comprehensive view of long-term trends.

This enhancement allowed users to easily track ongoing societal issues, analyze long-term patterns, and confidently make data-driven decisions with a full year of historical context across every platform at their fingertips.

Enhanced alert creation interface

We’ve made improvements to the alert creation process to ensure you never miss an important development. The new menu interface makes selecting a dashboard or search for alerts more intuitive and visually clear. We’ve streamlined the workflow so you can choose the right network and set up alerts more quickly, reducing unnecessary steps.

Coming soon

As we look ahead, you may have already noticed a small interface change to our Timeline widget. This is just the beginning of some exciting advancements to our most popular feature, coming later this quarter. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to enhance your experience and deliver even more powerful tools to keep you ahead of the curve.
