UK election highlights 2024

On July 4th, the UK will hold its first elections in five years, with the landscape looking quite different to how it did in 2019.

The incumbent Conservative party has its third leader in that time period, and is facing challenges from both a resurgent Labour party and Reform UK, both of whom seem to be chipping away at the party’s vote share from 2019.

The election was called by Rishi Sunak on May 22nd, so this report looks at what has happened from both an earned media and owned media perspective from that date up to a week before the election.
