The MLB teams are social media champions—on Twitter alone, they have 14 distinct accounts, in addition to the individual team handles. Plus, they’re savvy to the lingo; one of those accounts is dedicated solely to GIFs. They’ve also partnered this year with Snapchat, and continue to strengthen their digital game, both on social and with their own digital arm, MLB Advanced Media. 
According to Commissioner Rob Manfred, “We are definitely looking to broaden our footprint [and] increase the number of platforms—Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat—where baseball has a really big presence.”
