How viral is your content? Now, you can check with just a click. The NewsWhip Chrome Extension will let anyone see how a story is performing.

We’re excited to announce the launch of our Chrome Extensionavailable for all to use, not just NewsWhip clients. Now everyone can access NewsWhip’s social media database, to monitor and predict the social media performance of any link, across three major platforms — Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.

How big is a story predicted to be?

Just how shareable is a piece of content? The NewsWhip Chrome Extension is a quick and easy way to see which links are being shared, and how they’re predicted to drive more interactions.
Just navigate to a page and click the extension to check on a link:

You can see how many engagements a story already has, and how it will accrue more over the next few hours or day.

Which influencers are impacting a story?

How a story is being spread is also critical to understand. With the Chrome Extension, you can check which influencers are giving a story the most buzz through Facebook and Twitter.

You can both see the Facebook Pages or Twitter Handles influencing an article’s trajectory, how many engagements they’ve driven, and what the context of the Facebook post or tweet was.

What’s under the hood?

So, how does it work? The Chrome Extension dashboard displays Facebook engagements (likes, shares, comments, and reactions), Predicted Interactions, Twitter Influencer shares, and Pinterest Pins. The second half of the screen displays the Influencers for Facebook or Twitter.

You can view the story in NewsWhip Spike by using the link at the foot of the page “View story on Spike”.
