The Role:

This is a hybrid role that involves opportunity creation & sales cycle management and deal closing.  The Associate AE works in tandem with an Account Executive, focused on penetrating a portfolio of carefully selected prospects from within the PR and Brand space.  Additionally, they will be managing the entire sales cycle (qualification to close) for all Tier III inbound leads that fall outside of the PR sector.  


What you’ll do:

  • Outreach to PR & Brand prospects that will benefit from NewsWhip’s platforms
  • Systematically following up via phone, email and social networks
  • Booking demos and onsite meetings with qualified prospects
  • Providing demos, onsite & virtual presentations, and helping to close deals
  • Crafting messaging talking points, model emails & voice mails
  • Updating lead and contact info and tracking sales activities in Salesforce
  • Working closely with sales reps and customer success team members with all existing Enterprise/Tier I expansion opportunities
  • Meeting and exceeding activities and revenue contribution targets
  • Contributing to individual and team revenue goals


What the right candidate will have:

  • 2+  year experience in sales or sales development, at a SaaS, social, news/media, or agency
  • Have a strong consultative selling approach including ability to listen to and absorb customer questions and problems
  • Have successful track record of meeting and exceeding target activities
  • Be patient and thorough when identifying, qualifying, and engaging suspects and prospects
  • Love talking to prospects by phone and engaging in online conversations
  • Be effective in using CRM and engagement tools
  • Thrive in an exciting, hands on, and collaborative startup environment
  • Be a news and social media junkie
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Have good technical skills – be able to understand the basics of our technology after our training program, and explain it to others
