So far in 2021, we’ve been working on a lot of updates and improvements to our product. These updates happen while we’re working on our bigger feature releases, like Top Reddit Communities Leaderboard.

In March, we shipped quite a few improvements. Read below to check out what’s new, and click on any image to take a closer look.

Find your dashboards and searches with ease

We’ve heard from our users that it can be difficult to find the many searches and dashboards that you and your team use. So in March, we added the ability to search through your search and dashboard lists.
If you have more than 10 searches or dashboards, you will now see a search bar above your lists. This appears on both your sidebar, and on the home page, making it easy to find any search or dashboard that you’ve built.

Improved Twitter hashtag search and filtering

Sometimes, multiple variations of a hashtag are used on Twitter, depending on what part of the hashtag is capitalized. Now, we group all hashtags regardless of what letter is capitalized. This makes it easier for you to view all Tweets under a hashtag in one place.

But, we’ve gone even further with our Twitter improvements. Now that hashtags are grouped, we’ve added the ability to exclude hashtags from any search.

Click on the overflow menu, and you’ll now see the option to exclude a hashtag from your results.

Better guidance when building long search queries

We’ve added error messaging for when a search exceeds the character limit (2,046). This message will tell you how many characters over the limit you are. We’ll let you know when your search exceeds the maximum length before you can save your search.
If you need to build a complex search query, the best method is to split your queries into multiple strings. If you’d like help with this, click here to email your customer success manager who would be happy to help you.

More information when copying data to clipboard

It’s possible to export search results to a PDF, Excel, or JSON file. We also give you the ability to copy the data to your clipboard so you can add context in a different format, such as a Word document.
We’ve improved this feature and added support for all social networks — including Reddit, Instagram, and YouTube networks in NewsWhip Spike. We have also updated the information that is included when copying to clipboard to add more relevant data, and remove some irrelevant information.
